Is that redo doable?

Home improvement projects can bring a boost to sale prices, but how many homeowners think they’ll recoup the whole amount spent on presale projects? It may sound reasonable, but the actual return on projects can vary greatly — refinishing hardwood floors is a good example of a project that can return every penny spent, if not more.

Other work, like a full renovation of a bathroom or kitchen, may not get everything back, but does that mean the work shouldn’t be done? Like car mileage claims, actual results may vary. If your appliances, fixtures or color scheme could be an exhibit in the Museum of Regrettable Choices, give renovations some serious thought.

But remember, if the result doesn’t suit the buyer’s personality or preferences, everything just might get done over again anyway.
